Writing
Essays and a podcast
A place to bring the research into a more accessible register, published under the name Digited Atelier.
What this is
The essays and the podcast take the same material as my research and set it down in plainer language, for anyone interested in how learning, thinking, and wellbeing hold together. The register is warmer than a journal article and no less serious for it.
The themes
- Study and formation. How a person learns to work: to plan, to read closely, to write with structure, to sustain effort.
- Wellbeing under pressure. What it takes to remain well through demanding study and work, and why effort and wellbeing are not rivals.
- The internationally mobile student. Learning far from home, in a language and a system that are not your own.
- The ordered mind. The long history, from the Renaissance onward, of how people have arranged their minds against a disordered world.
Where to find it
- Essays and the podcast are forthcoming. This page will hold them as they appear.
- Published academic papers, in English and in French, are on Academia.edu.
- Earlier Renaissance research is on my notebook at cgcesr.wordpress.com.
